Hipper project started

02-12-2014

On the 26th of November the participants of the Hipper project came together for the official start of the project.

The Hipper project is a collaboration of Digital Life with the Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and Remedial therapy groups of the Applied University of Amsterdam, The Academic Medical Centre (AMC), and care organizations Cordaan, Vivium Naarderheem and Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland.

Within this project a new protocol for revalidation after hip surgery will be developed that includes sensor technology. The protocol will give patients and caregivers more insight in the progress of the revalidation. This increases the self-management of the patients and allows caregivers to provide a more effective treatment.

In the first meeting researchers, therapists and care managers discussed the requirements for the protocol. In the coming months more requirements will be collected and the protocol will be developed. The protocol will be tested at the care organizations.
